Warning! Internet Scams & Email Phishing

July 28th, 2010 by spam blocking

A video blog about internet scams, asking if you’ve ever experienced them and if you know anyone who has been taken in. Also I cover how to watch out and avoid them. Beware of a Dell scam going around, in which you will be asked to verify your payment details after buying the computer. They will ask for your credit card and passport. This is a scam do not reply.

I once got a redicuous one where it said someone had died who I didn’t know and was all the way across the world put me in their will and they have money for me. I was so generic that I knew it was fake.

Yeah I had the suit guy experience I wonder was it the same guy. He was heading to Shannon in my case seeing as I live on the west coast. But his story was pretty much the same.

Did anyone receive a private message on youtube last week congratulating you on your latest video and saying that your channel could be featured by going to a website ?

Well, I never clicked the link they offered. But I do feel like an idiot because I responded in kind (Thanks for the comment, have a nice day). Two days later, I receive the same shit message from someone else on my other account. Facepalm.

tip: if it’s from a government official (or similar) and they have a yahoo email address, don’t bother with it
I like the one from the FBI saying they’ve recovered funds from a scammer and will send you an ATM card with a million dollars on it as soon as you give them your ID and banking info.

Warnings are all over the place, so I don’t feel sorry for people who still willingly hand over their money to these people.

    love the accent man!

It’s true, the stereotype Italian accent is nothing like the actual Italian accent. Plus, there are different accents between Northern Italians and Southern Italians as well, so all-in-all, it’s difficult to determine what a so-called general Italian accent truly is. In any case, it was still amusing to hear that stereotypical Italian accent you pulled off. =P
