The attitude is the same. They want the perfect set every time they hit the stage. Of course things are going to change with sound and positions but what the fuck? U cannot compare 1994 to 2009. It’s a pointless endeavor. For me personally growing up with the band I like the new songs and styles. Its ambitious and extremely personal. I consider it a new era with phish. They are growing older gracefully inside this thing of theirs. Its classy, its edgy, and it fucking still consumes me!

I was at this Show and this song was Funky as hell and he is singing better now than he ever has. He has a new found respect for what he is playing. His sister died in 08 so he is playing for her

Actually, They probably are getting “Phunky” Just that you cant hear it. The camera is plugged directly into the sound board. Thats why this Boot-leg Has such good quality.

I mean, clearly they arent playing like they were in the 90’s. the difference between then in now is the fact that in the 90’s they were TRYING to make it.
now, they HAVE made it. so you need to take what they play with a grain of salt kind of. they are legends, so listen to their music from the standpoint of “they are 10x doper at music than I am at pretty much anything”. there were some SICK jams this summer. red rocks tweezer jam?? ohh shit.

I disagree. He is not nearly as sharp. Not even close. My point is he is not singing through his guitar like he once was. He is moaning.
I am a huge phish fan. So don’t act like i’m just some random dude. A lot of heads think any constructive criticism is not warranted. But it is. I have over 350 shows on CD, so i know phish.

they played this second song (first night) at the gorge… one of the few daylight songs; my man was draggin his feet, and i was mime pulling him in,,,,,,, love it

indeed, you can tell Trey really likes to sing/play it…its a feel good song for me…I obv thought it was ok at the show, but really liked it after hearing the show. which is always the case w new stuff for me.

Great video! I remember standing in line for 20min trying to get a #$% beer, and missed most of this song. I thought it was 46Days at first (similar rift).. Great song though!, one of my new favs. Check out some other vids I have from Hartford, Hampton, and Fenway. -GPhunky

Gotta be honest–new songs are so welcome. The old stuff is great, but…old and ever more difficult to revitalize.
I dig this song, and in my opinion, this is the best version of the summer–I can hear a passion and delicate melody in Trey’s voice that does not come with the older songs.
