In this short video, I share a few friendly methods to identify and avoid phishing scams. In this brief demonstration I have used a message that was automatically placed on the “Junk” folder by the Windows Live service. This message is a known phishing scam and it can be easily detected and avoided simply by using Windows Internet Explorer 8; it is also important to remember that a security software suite such as the consumer products from Symantec and McAfee play a crucial role on the detection and avoidance of phishing websites. I also give you some tips on how to clearly identify and avoid phishing scams received by e-mail. I hope you find my advices helpful and I do hope that people become more conscious about this type of fraud which is increasing at an alarming rate around the world.
