I keep getting e-mails that tell me I’ve won some internet “lottery” (usually from somewhere in Europe). I know it’s some sort of spam or phishing scheam, but I don’t understand why. What are the people trying to accomplish or get from me? What should I do when I get them? Just deleate them or what?

They are trying to relieve you of your money. Delete them.

They will say something like, “When you fill this out, you get your money” and you’ve agreed to pay them money without knowing it. This kind of stuff is in the fine print. A basic rule of thumb for email spam: if it sounds too good to be true, it IS.
