“free stuff” websites, has anyone ever really gotten anything for free?

January 29th, 2009 by spam blocking

frescafre08 asked:

I have not seen a single “free stuff” website where the item was truly free. I have not seen even one where there was not a catch. Scam or phishing? I say phishing, they get your email address and spam away. Also, postal address results in excessive junk mail. So they get free email and postal addresses (which they can sell to other companies) while the customer pays shipping and handling charges for the privilege of wading through email and paper junk for hours on end.

How is it possible that someone can use my email address to send emails?

August 21st, 2008 by spam blocking

Simba asked:

This is no lie. I have gotten more than 5,000 bounced emails from various postmasters sent to my other email address I have saying it’s a mailer-daemon postmaster; this email does not exist, we tried but couldn’t send your email; in a considerable amount of them have HGH Life or Hoodia from Africa in the bottom of the body of the email message. I asked the manager of my email account and I was told that it can’t be stopped, it’s not spam, or phishing, but someone used my name and email address in the “from” and “subject” field. I don’t understand how it’s done. I don’t know how this is possible, can someone explain? Did someone steal my personal computer number for tracking. I’m going to have to cancel this email account and open another one. A few of the bounced back postmaster mailer-daemon emails I got were from government officials & said don’t send emails here but I never sent anyone these emails? And Why? Can anyone explain? Can this be fixed? Can this happen again.????

How do you block users in myspace whose contact tables aredisabled?

August 8th, 2006 by spam blocking

James W asked:

There is someone on my list who is spamming me with bulletins. It is not a “real” account as anything you click on there takes you a phishing site…basically another spam site. I am not sure how to block this user. Their contact tables are disabled..anything you click on it, it takes you to another site…

Is there any formula I can use such as copying and pasting a url combined with their friends ID such as myspace.com/blockfriend=userID?

Honest….honestly

June 14th, 2006 by spam blocking

onucoqui2001 asked:

I keep getting e-mails that tell me I’ve won some internet “lottery” (usually from somewhere in Europe). I know it’s some sort of spam or phishing scheam, but I don’t understand why. What are the people trying to accomplish or get from me? What should I do when I get them? Just deleate them or what?
