How is it possible that someone can use my email address to send emails?

This is no lie. I have gotten more than 5,000 bounced emails from various postmasters sent to my other email address I have saying it’s a mailer-daemon postmaster; this email does not exist, we tried but couldn’t send your email; in a considerable amount of them have HGH Life or Hoodia from Africa in the bottom of the body of the email message. I asked the manager of my email account and I was told that it can’t be stopped, it’s not spam, or phishing, but someone used my name and email address in the “from” and “subject” field. I don’t understand how it’s done. I don’t know how this is possible, can someone explain? Did someone steal my personal computer number for tracking. I’m going to have to cancel this email account and open another one. A few of the bounced back postmaster mailer-daemon emails I got were from government officials & said don’t send emails here but I never sent anyone these emails? And Why? Can anyone explain? Can this be fixed? Can this happen again.????

What would you do if an ex-fiance, who screwed you over anyways, wrote you an email out of the blue?

after THREE years of NO contact-And it was titled “What do you think?” and invited me to click on a link in her mail…called Lovehappens. I did. And it said I had an account there, but I had to request a password. I told her what happened in another email, and I was waiting for a password from the link site she gave me. No response. So, today, I figured to heck with it, and spent around 3 to 4 minutes filling out a profile for myself…added a picture. Then I got two pages of pop-ups asking me if i wanted to be on a this or that mailing list also, I put no on both. Then, a page came up and asked if I wanted to be able to email members for free, then asked for my yahoo address, then below it, asked for my yahoo password!!! She was PHISHING ME!!!! SO, I sent her my room-mates web-site from Pre-Paid Legal, a NYSE traded firm, that handles both legal services AND IDENTITY theft protection, and emailed my ex and told her in the title, What do YOU think-then sent my roomies site?
Although I think she is just being nosy and wants to find out my financials, who know? I told her it was a great stock too. But it sort of really angers me, should I do something about it?
OK, Gaspode, it was a singles site, we were engaged for a year and a half, and she looks like the young Marisa Tomei, nuff said? But it pisses me OFF!
Flow Kayla, it’s my opinion that she wants to see if I have any Schwab mail…money info’s etc.
PhD, sucker means I took the bait, I did not. PhD of what? Insults? You know what Pino Arlacchi says about insults. When you have the dough, let me know when you can sit down with me in an IQ test. Jealousy of all types sting huh PhD?
